It cannot be overstated, that when you come to an intersection, take a moment and look both ways. Technology has created an increase in distracted drivers and pedestrians. Checking to see if the intersection is clear may help avoid hitting that pedestrian who’s crossing the street with their head down staring at the latest Tic-Tok video. There also seems to be a higher trend of cars attempting to speed through yellow lights.
Remember, it’s not good enough to just follow the laws of the road. If you want to stay safe, you must be actively aware of the potential negligence around you. Otherwise, you may be sitting in a hospital bed after surgery, pleading to the nurse, “but I didn’t do anything wrong!” Unfortunately, sometimes you are being as safe as you can, and a collision was truly unavoidable. If this is the case, find yourself a personal injury attorney right away. The group at Acclaim Law will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
